Seasons........

Well it's definitely been awhile since I have written a post. Life in the Lockette household has been busy. School is well underway and Josiah received his first report card which means 9 weeks of kindergarten have come and gone. He is doing great and we are having fun! Daddy has accepted an offer for a new job. We are excited and preparing ourselves for the transition. The new job means new hours and a new schedule but we are thankful for God's provision and favor.

We have been doing a lot of fun fall things in the past couple of days as the weather has been so nice. Yesterday we took a trip up to Panther Creek State Park and took a short hike to the Cherokee Lake Overlook. It was a beautiful day and I loved the sound of crunching leaves as we made our way through the forest. It seemed that there were leaves everywhere and the kids could not contain there excitement as they crunched and jumped and ran through all the leaves. That's one of the things I enjoy most about seasons in Tennessee. With each change of the seasons there is new excitement and new adventures and new opportunities to learn and explore something new. And so it is in our lives too. Life brings seasons and seasons change. We must learn to seek God's amazing glory in each season and whether our seasons are full of sunshine or stormy rain, we explore and we hold on knowing that each season in our lives serves a purpose. I am so thankful that I have been able to enjoy the falling leaves with my kids that last few days but I know that fall is on its way out and soon winter will be knocking. We always anticipate the first sight of snow with excitement but come late January after the Christmas tree is put away and the kids have been couped inside way too long I know that I will be hoping for the season to change quickly. I've learned that it's not much different in my own life. There are some seasons that I pray go quicker than others but in each one there is a lesson to be learned and wisdom to be gained. Since we moved to Tennessee a few years ago, Chris has always told me, "I hope we never take the seasons for granted" and so it is my desire in my personal life aswell. May I never take any season for granted.............
